Immediately following Hurricane Maria, Team Cobra has been trusted to get relief directly to the people who need it most. The outpouring of donors from around the world with the assistance of The Mighty Flying Buzzard, the Antigua & Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSAR) team, Yacht Aid Global, the Lee Brenneisen Foundation and others was of no small measure! From food, water, filters, tanks, bedding, and clothing and later LED lights to students across the island - with no hidden agenda, and no discrimination - we made it happen.
Hurricane Maria devastated Dominica at the start of the 2017-2018 Tourist Season. With communities being heavily reliant on the tourism industry, it was critical to have the sites and their access ways cleared and cleaned up. In partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Authority and other community tourism stakeholders, Team Cobra played a leading role accomplishing this extensive task. The work continues!
The extensive loss of homes is one of the saddest consequences of Hurricane Maria's passing. Still today many families are left homeless. With the great help of partners such as the Antigua & Barbuda Search and Rescue organization (ABSAR) and donors from around the world, Team Cobra has made it a priority to help Dominicans repair and rebuild their homes.
Getting children back to school. Team Cobra thanks the many local and visiting volunteers, donors and contributions of partners such as the Lee Brenneisen Foundation, the Antigua & Barbuda Search & Rescue (ABSAR) organization, and Yacht Aid Global for their continued support to our team's efforts to repair and restore our nation's schools! This is an ongoing endeavour of enormous consequence.
